CFA Society Toronto Announces 2024/2025 Board of Directors

(TORONTO, ON) November 14, 2024 CFA Society Toronto is pleased to announce the election of its 2024/2025 Board of Directors following the Annual General Meeting held on November 13, 2024. The Board of Directors serves a critical leadership role by providing strategic direction to carry out the Society's mission and vision, delivering value to its members in a rapidly changing investment environment, and promoting high ethical standards for the enhancement of the investment profession.

2024-25 BOARD OF DIRECTORS

 

CFA Society Toronto welcomes two new Board Members:

Nigel Carpenter, CNE – Director

Nigel brings 30 years of experience as a senior technology executive, with past leadership roles also responsible for Human Resources and Facilities. He has more than 10 years of healthcare experience in mental health, research, advocacy, and health centre management, including board director roles at the Ontario Association of Community Care Access Centres and as Vice-Chair at Wellfort Community Health Centres.

Most recently, Nigel was Vice-President of IT Governance & Co-Chair of the Transition Management Office for the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO), overseeing activities related to the consolidation of the Mutual Fund Dealers Association (MFDA) and the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC). He joined MFDA in 2016 as Chief Technology Officer, where he was responsible for technology strategy, security, and the lifecycle of all information systems, ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information.

Noelle Sargeant – Director

Noelle is a seasoned corporate leader with over 20 years of experience in global senior executive roles within diverse financial services firms, including OMERS, Scotia Capital, Russell Investments, and International Financial Data Services (IFDS). She has held roles in Human Resources, Risk Management, and Governance, and is known for contributing pragmatic, creative solutions and deep expertise in organizational effectiveness and transformational change management.

Currently, Noelle leverages her experience as a trusted advisor to corporate executives and board directors, providing bespoke coaching and advisory services. She demonstrates her commitment to making a broader contribution to society through her involvement in non-profit endeavors; she is a former board director for the Youth & Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) and is involved in local community initiatives.

 Noelle is a graduate of McGill University (BA, Industrial Relations), is a designated HRPA Professional, a graduate of Rotman’s Advanced Strategic Change program, and has completed professional coaching certification through Adler Graduate School.
