Make Connections, Build Leadership Skills and Support Your Community.

CFA Society Toronto is a not-for-profit organization that relies heavily on support from Committee and Project Volunteers. Our volunteers help bring together the content, speakers and coordination for our professional development events, contribute to publications and participate in our outreach programs.


In return, our volunteers are given the opportunity to strengthen their professional skills, apply their talent, and build business connections within and outside of the CFA community. Currently, we offer two types of volunteer positions, Committee Volunteers and Project Volunteers.

Volunteer Appreciation

Our organization thrives on the passion and dedication of our volunteers—they are the bedrock of our success.

As a token of our appreciation, we're honoring these remarkable individuals during Volunteer Appreciation Week, from April 15th to 19th. Throughout the week, we'll be shining a spotlight on our incredible volunteers in the Volunteer Appreciation page and on our LinkedIn (@CFAToronto) and Instagram(@CFASocietyToronto) accounts.

Their stories, their impact, and their unwavering commitment deserve to be celebrated. Whether they're supporting events, mentoring others, or driving our mission forward, each volunteer plays an integral role in our shared journey.

Types of Volunteering

Committee Volunteers

Committee Volunteers are committee members that sit on one or more of our Programming, Non-Programming and Standing Committees. They assist in the development and facilitation of events, programs, governance and outreach. Committees are made up of chairs, vice chairs, leads, and members.

Time Commitment

Our volunteer year runs September to August.

Term

Our volunteer term is three years renewable once for a second three-year period for all committee members.

Project Volunteers

Project Volunteers participate as both a program and event assistant. Program Assistants activities can include judging for one of our competitions, sitting on a committee task force or helping with outreach activities. Event Assistants help our events team with event preparation and on-site event activities. Project Volunteers are contacted with short-term volunteer opportunities throughout our volunteer year and pick up those opportunities that interest them and fit into their schedules.

Our volunteer year runs September to August. During this period of time, Project Volunteers can select short-term, volunteer opportunities that are shared.
