TORONTO, ON 07 November 2017 - CFA Society Toronto is pleased to invite submissions for the 2018 Financial Journalism Awards. The awards were first introduced in 2013 to recognizing the contributions of different Canadian based publications and journalists towards the advancement of investor education, best practice and the promotion of ethics and high professional standards within the financial community.
These awards identify and acknowledge publications and journalists whose work helps consumers and practitioners gain a better understanding of the investment profession. In order to win, submissions need to be explanatory, relevant, and backed up by data and fact.
“The purpose of the awards is to provide recognition to financial journalists who show exceptional commitment to high professional standards. The financial press plays a critical role in improving transparency and strengthening investor education, which are key pillars supporting CFA Institute’s efforts to foster a forward-thinking financial industry that better serves society,” said Devin Crago, CFA, Member Communications Committee Chair.
The three award categories for the 2018 Financial Journalism Awards are Publication of the Year, Journalist of the Year, and Future of Finance Award. Qualifying publications will be asked to submit three articles from the past 12 months that best demonstrate their commitment to investor education, ethics and high professional standards to media@cfatoronto.ca before 5PM EST on 15 January 2018.
Awards will be presented at the annual CFA Society Toronto Media Contact Directory launch in March 2018.
