CFA Society Toronto (the "Society") bases its privacy practices on compliance with the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronics Documents Act (PIPEDA).
PERSONAL INFORMATION
Personal information is any information about an identifiable individual, excluding an individual's business title or business contact information. Examples of personal information include: home address and phone number, age, financial information and marital status. Information that is publicly available, (i.e. a telephone book listing) is not considered to be personal information.
- Collection and Use of Personal Information
- The Society collects personal information about registrants, participants, sponsors and volunteers (our "Stakeholders") to establish, maintain and manage our relationship with our Stakeholders. the personal information collected allows us to provide programs for our stakeholders, and other services related to the work of the Society which includes obtaining sponsors for events, and promoting the CFA designation.
We assure you that the personal information the Society collects is for the purpose of establishing and maintaining services and our relationship with you. The Society will not collect personal information about you from a third party without your express consent. If the purpose for using your personal information changes from the time such consent was obtained, the Society will advise you of this purpose and seek your consent for its use.
In providing your personal information to the Society you agree and consent that we may collect, use and disclose your personal information in accordance with this Statement and the Society's Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these terms, personal information should not be provided to the Society. Failure to provide personal information necessary for enrollment in programs may prevent us from offering you the services and/or programs requested.
- Disclosure of Your Personal Information.
The Society allows access of your personal information to our employees, board members and/or volunteers, who require such information in their role, to establish, manage and maintain our relationship with you. We disclose your personal information to thiird party service providers with whom we contract to mail collateral material but only for the purpose of facilitating a mailing. These third party providers only have acces to a personal information that is needed to perform the mailing function and may not use it for any other purpose. From time to time we also engage consultants to compile data and provide reports to us to assist in us adancing the Society's goals and provision of services. No sensitive personal information would be shared with such consultants and as part of their engagement, they would sign a non-disclosure agreement with the Society.
As explained above, the Society uses your personal information to keep you informed about Society activities. If you do not wish to receive such mailings, please let us know by emailing info@cfatoronto.ca, by calling us at the telephone numbers below or by writing to us at the address below. Please provide us with your exact name and address. We will then remove your name from our mailing list.
