2024-2025 Call for Nominations for Board of Directors

2024-2025 CFA Society Toronto Board of Directors

CFA Society Toronto is currently accepting applications for the 2024-2025 Board of Directors.

There are two open Board positions and preference will be given to individuals with strategic expertise in one of the following areas to complement existing Board competencies and the governance framework:

  • Human Resources
  • Information/Cyber Security

The Board provides strategic leadership focused on the Society’s mission to create opportunities for our members to raise standards and make high-quality contributions toward a trustworthy financial community.

As a member of the Board, you will support the advancement of CFA Society Toronto’s new three-year Strategic Plan, focused on the following North Star and Strategic Pillars:

North Star

To enhance and expand our diverse community to promote an ethical, dynamic and vibrant investment and financial services industry.

Strategic Pillars

  1. Deliver an outstanding member experience in a highly personalized manner.
  2. Amplify our influence & impact within the investment and financial services industry.
  3. Pursue operational excellence across all organizational platforms and processes.

In addition to the preferred competency areas, the Governance and Nominations Committee is seeking candidates who possess the following qualities:

  • The commitment to support decisions and directions set by the Board of Directors
  • Contribute to an environment of mutual respect among all of the Society’s stakeholders
  • Commit to support the mission of the Society through Board and Committee initiatives
  • Represent CFA Society Toronto’s diverse community
  • Devote the requisite time to fulfil the duties as a Board director
  • Prior Board and/or governance experience is an asset

Application Process

To apply for the Board, please complete the application form and include a CV by August 6, 2024.

Applicants are not required to be a CFA charterholder.

Non-members are welcome to apply for a position on the Board. If selected, they will be required to obtain CFA Society Toronto membership prior to the slate being presented to members.

Evaluation Process

Applicants approved by the Board for nomination will be contacted and informed of the Board’s decision, subject to security, credit and education checks as well as professional references.
