Eve Makarova, MBA, CFA, CFP, is a Director of Capital Investments and Portfolio Management Director of Capital Investments and Portfolio Management at SMBX, and a CFA Society Toronto volunteer.

"My involvement with the CFA Society Toronto commenced through my participation in the CFA Mentorship Program as a protege back in 2016. This enriching experience introduced me to a diverse network of professionals, provided insights into various career trajectories, and fostered a deep appreciation for lifelong learning. Motivated by this experience, I made a deliberate choice to further serve the CFA Society Toronto through volunteerism.

As I celebrate my eighth year with the CFA Mentorship Committee, my roles have evolved from being a committee member to assuming the position of chair. This progression underscores how volunteering has transcended mere philanthropy to become a cornerstone for cultivating a rewarding and dynamic career pathway. Through my volunteer efforts, I had the privilege to contribute to impactful initiatives, collaborate with industry leaders, and develop invaluable skills that augmented my professional toolkit. Reflecting on my volunteer contributions, I am profoundly grateful for the opportunity to explore a career pathway that extends beyond giving back to the community, but rather exploring a fulfilling career avenue rich with prospects and personal development.
