Derek Walker, CFA,  is a Managing Director, Head of Portfolio Design & Construction, Total Fund Management at CPP Investments and a CFA Society Toronto volunteer.

"Over the years I have appreciated the excellent programming offered by the CFA Society Toronto, both as a source of learning and also as a means to connect with peers. So I was delighted to have the opportunity to help contribute to  building a sense of community among charterholders here in Toronto as a volunteer at the Society.

The best part of being a volunteer is working with a diverse group of fellow volunteers from different organizations that I would otherwise not likely encounter in my day-to-day professional life. One of my most memorable experiences as a volunteer was seeing so many old friends and meeting new people at our first post-COVID in-person Annual Pension Conference last year."
