Embrace the Challenge is CFA Society Toronto's annual student showcase, bringing together top undergraduate and graduate students from universities across Ontario for a full day of competition, learning, recognition, and networking. Designed to inspire and develop the next generation of investment professionals, the event provides students with opportunities to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios, demonstrate their analytical and ethical decision-making skills, and connect with leaders from Canada's investment industry.
Each year, Embrace the Challenge features two of the profession's most respected student competitions—the CFA Institute Research Challenge and the CFA Societies Canada Ethics Challenge—followed by a celebration recognizing outstanding student achievement through the CFA Society Toronto Undergraduate Finance & Economics Awards.

The CFA Institute Research Challenge is a globally recognized equity research competition that gives university students hands-on experience in investment analysis. Working in teams under the guidance of industry mentors, participants analyze a publicly traded company, develop an investment recommendation, and present their findings to a panel of investment professionals.
The competition helps students strengthen their financial analysis, valuation, research, presentation, and communication skills while gaining valuable exposure to real-world investment management practices.

Ethics are at the heart of the investment profession. The CFA Societies Canada Ethics Challenge gives students the opportunity to analyze complex ethical situations and develop thoughtful, principled recommendations based on the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct.
