THE PAST FEW MONTHS HAVE BEEN an exciting time of change at CFA Society Toronto. In his first three months as CEO, Fred Pinto, CFA, has taken a deep dive into stakeholder meetings and has actively engaged in CFA Society Toronto and industry events to gauge how to best lead the Society forward.
We were able to maintain our strategic focus because of the seamless CEO transition, thanks to the hard work and dedication of Sue Lemon, CFA, and Fred. Sue ensured Fred was set up for success, introducing him to many key stakeholders, including our sponsors, advisors, and dedicated volunteers.
This February, the board held another successful annual strategic planning session. During this collaborative meeting, we focused on our three strategic objectives for 2022 to 2024: to increase growth and connectivity for key stakeholders, to build designation value, and to advance sustainability and resilience for the Society. We are currently in the second year of our strategic plan and continue to work together to serve CFA Society Toronto’s membership.
The enthusiastic response and pent-up demand we have seen for in-person events have reinforced the value of togetherness and community. Marquee events, such as our Annual CFA Charter Recognition event, brought together hundreds of charterholders to celebrate the exciting milestone of earning their CFA designation. The 2023 Annual Equity Symposium sold out quickly! Participants enjoyed a series of speakers, an engaging Q&A, and an active networking hour. These events, and the many others that our Society runs, validate our drive to offer members opportunities to learn, share, and be a part of a community.
CFA Society Toronto is also innovating and expanding ground-breaking membership services that allow our members to build their brands and showcase their expertise. This includes initiatives such as the mentorship program, the “Day in the Life of” speaker series, the Knowledge Network Directory, the 2023 Media Contact Directory (launching this spring), our Ask Us Anything video series, and this publication, The Analyst.
I look forward to providing further updates as we implement our strategic initiatives and partnerships this spring.
