Letter from Peter Jarvis

It has been with great pride that I have served as Chief Executive Officer of CFA Society Toronto for the past five years. It’s an organization that I have been associated with for almost my entire career and one I will remain involved with during my retirement. As a volunteer and employee within the Society, I have met individuals from many backgrounds, specialities, and countries, and like Toronto itself, the Society is a rich and diverse tapestry that is both flourishing and strong. Being a part of this journey has been an enriching personal experience and has validated my early desire to be part of this broader financial community.

During the period in which I led CFA Society Toronto with the support of the Board, volunteers and members, and CFA Institute and employers, we have been able to grow stronger despite difficult market conditions. This speaks to the depth of commitment of all our stakeholders to our vision of professionalism and integrity and to our mission to advance our industry.

So, much has been accomplished; however, there is still much to do. It has been rewarding to be a part of such dynamic growth, to have been part of the development of our strategic direction, and to have had the opportunity to lead such a remarkable group of people. I have been proud and happy to do my part. I wish my successor well and thank you all for your support.

Regards

Peter S. Jarvis, CFA,
Executive Director
