I AM INCREDIBLY HONOURED to have been elected CFA Society Toronto’s Board of Directors and to be working alongside an impressive roster of board members. Following our mission, we completed our Member Research Survey with Bramm Research which included volunteer and staff discovery sessions and a Board strategic review. This developed a meaningful strategic plan to better reflect stakeholder needs. I am pleased to report that we’ve already hit the ground running and have begun executing the first year of the new three-year strategic plan that will bring us into 2024, and beyond.

American film director, public speaker, entrepreneur, and author of Your Network Is Your Net Worth, Porter Gale aptly wrote, “I believe that your social capital, or your ability to build a network of authentic personal and professional relationships, not your financial capital, is the most important asset in your portfolio.”

In the uncertain times of this global pandemic, the need to provide members with meaningful opportunities to connect has become a fundamental focus of our strategic plan. Meeting member needs through professional and career development opportunities allows members to continue sharpening their financial acumen throughout their careers, while connecting with each other and with other leaders in the investment community.

In the new year, members can look forward to leading-edge continued education events, workshops, and conferences, including an updated ESG Bootcamp this coming spring, as well as participation in our award-winning mentorship program.  

I would like to close by extending season’s greetings to you all. Collaborating with our Board and volunteers and serving my fellow members has been a joy and a privilege. Wishing you and yours the happiest of holidays, health, and much prosperity in 2022.
