The Canadian Ethics Challenge is a Canada-wide competition between student teams from undergraduate and graduate finance or economics programs. Each team analyzes a case study and is given four weeks to prepare and present their findings at a competition hosted by a local CFA Society. Student teams are challenged with the task of highlighting the ethical dilemmas and solutions based on their case study created by CFA Institute. The winners from each local competition move forward to compete at the national level of the competition co-ordinated by CFA Societies Canada.

This year’s CFA Society Toronto Ethics Challenge local competition winning team was from the University of Ottawa’s Telfer School of Management. Nicholas Pelchat, Natalie Dokmajian, Christian Cotroneo, Aamena Chatoo, and James Beaudoin eloquently covered each ethical infraction in the case study during their presentation and judges’ question and answer period.
