CFA Society Toronto and CFA Society Ottawa are hosting the 13th Annual CFA Institute Research Challenge local competition.  Every year, several universities and college-sponsored teams enter to participate in the preliminary portion of the competition.  Each team researches and prepares a written report on a Subject Company designated by the local host.  This year’s Subject Company is Transcontinental Inc.

The preliminary round consists of a blind process in which the identities of the universities are unknown to the graders and judges based both on the written reports and presentation scores (50% written report and 50% oral presentation). The teams that receive the top four scores will be selected as finalists and will be announced on 25 January 2022.

After the competition, the following awards will be honored:

• Ethics Challenge Local Competition 1st Place Winners
• Research Challenge Local Competition 1st Place Winners
• Undergraduate Finance & Economics Scholarship Award Winners
