From Humble Beginnings to the Largest CFA Society in the World

CFA Society Toronto is proudly celebrating 90 years!

Since the Society’s formation in 1936, we have seen significant changes in the size of our membership and in our influence in the investment community, both locally and abroad, and even several name changes along the way. One constant throughout nine decades is our commitment to promoting and representing the core values of the CFA designation and enhancing thought leadership in the investment and financial services community.

Originally named The Security Analysts’ Association of Toronto, the Society started as a group of investment professionals meeting at local diners during their lunch hours to discuss the current events of their profession and share ideas and experiences to further develop the investment practice.

While much has changed since 1936, what remains constant is why we exist: to give finance and investment professionals a place to connect, share ideas, and grow together. Today, with more than 11,500 members, the power of CFA Society Toronto’s community continues to deliver meaningful value every day.
