IT SEEMS LIKE ONLY YESTERDAY that I crafted my first letter for The Analyst as Chair of CFA Society Toronto’s Board of Directors. As I am sure has been the case for many of us, pandemic time moves a little differently, and my term as Chair has truly been like no other.  

Thankfully, with the support of our Board, volunteers, members, and management office, we have been able to achieve a great deal despite the global pandemic. We have continued to come together, albeit virtually, to support each other and our local and global financial communities.

We are thrilled for the return of our marquee event, the Virtual Annual Forecast “Dinner”. On October 5, 2021, we will be pleased to welcome the internationally renowned historian, academic, author, and filmmaker, Niall Ferguson for a fireside chat. The moderator for this event will be Sharon Ranson, President of The Ranson Group Inc. This year’s Annual Forecast “Dinner” will be hosted online, and we certainly hope that you will join us. Finally, as we embark on our new three-year strategic plan, CFA Society Toronto will work to:

• Meet stakeholder needs and expectations with innovative services and meaningful opportunities to connect
• Excel as a global leader among CFA member societies, advancing the designation for all stakeholders and fostering pride in the profession
• Act as a steward for our members and stakeholders by continuing to refine and modernize the Society

I am both humbled and grateful for the support and care I have seen in my time volunteering with CFA Society Toronto, particularly in these past eighteen months. It has been an absolute pleasure serving as your Board Chair.
